EARLY YEARS PROGRAM
English learning in a loving environment
Open Arms provides a fun and safe space for children to learn English. Children receive supportive and positive learning experiences through play and engaging activities. The key concepts involve communication and creative expression through verbal and non-verbal messages. We hope that through our work, kids are able to express personal choices and make individualized decisions.
Our volunteers are those who love working together with kids to provide each child with a fun and active English learning session. Volunteers need plenty of energy and enthusiasm, and enjoy having fun with children. They help with English, play games, and participate in a variety of activities together.

“The thing I love the most about teaching our Early Years classes is the bond I get to have with the children and see them develop and grow up. I think they give and teach me even more than I am able to give them. One thing that constantly surprises me is how selfless and loving they are. They don’t have much, but still they’re always wanting to give me something they cherish - a toy, their favorite bracelet, a drawing they made, the last piece of chocolate - I believe it’s their way of expressing that they also care for us like we do for them. And I think we could all learn something from that."
